Whole Foods (Honolulu)

Biggest selection of organic products is found at Whole Foods Market in Honolulu (Kahala Mall) and Kailua. Whole Foods has various deli vendors, a food bar, and a all-organic salad bar. Whole Foods has the best selection of organic alcohol and meat on the islands.

Down to Earth (Honolulu)

Down to Earth is the only vegetarian chain in Hawaii. I mostly shop at Down to Earth because prices are usually lower than Whole Foods and it’s a smaller store, so I get things faster. Plus, you get 5% off entire purchase with a membership to Hawaii Vegetarian Society. You also get Down To Earth rewards with a free DTE membership card. Down to Earth has a food bar featuring organic ingredients, organic espresso bar, deli, reverse osmosis/alkaline water refill station, and kombucha on tap. Note: no meat or fish sold here, since it’s vegetarian. No alcohol.

Safeway (Honolulu)

Safeway has expanded it’s selection of organic products and produce. The prices are usually pretty good.

Phone:(808) 733-2600

Costco (Honolulu)

I go to Costco once a month at the most and every time I go there I notice more and more organic products and that’s great! They sell in bulk, so if you need just a little bit, then it’s probably not the best option. Costco membership is required to shop there. 525 Alakawa Street Honolulu, HI 96817 (808) 526-6103

Food Pantry (Waikiki, Honolulu)

Food Pantry is the only grocery store in Waikiki. It has few organic items, but it’s better than none because recently they had none at all. They sell organic sulfite free red wine, which I usually get there because it’s close to my house. Recently, Food Pantry added a small organic produce section! 2370 Kuhio Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815, United States (808) 923-9831

Don Quiqote (Honolulu)

Don Quiqote is mostly non-organic, but I go there sometimes because they have best prices on organic mushrooms. Due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster I would not recommend any products that come from Japan at this time as a result of radiation contamination concerns including rice, sake, tea, seafood, etc. 801 Kaheka St Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 973-4800

Foodland (various locations)

Foodland carries some selection of organic products, but I usually shop at the places listed above. 1460 South Beretania Street Honolulu, HI 96814 (808) 946-4654
