Description: We, at Aunty’s Lil Green Hut (started and  run by my mom, daughter and me) specialize in gluten free, organic food (much of which we grow aeroponically) and teach free sustainability classes and Food Activism. We come from a long line of healing practitioners and farmers. My daughter, is finishing her degree in nutrition to help young women with eating disorders and foster children coming out of the system. She is the 6th generation to live in Kahuku. My mom is our master grower, (her dad was a fisherman, farmer, worked in the Kahuku sugar mill next door and her mom was a lomilomi la’au lapaau practitioner who worked as a cook in the first bakery restaurant in the N Shore. She sold fish and her bread out the back of their family truck). We come from a long line of women offering service in nutrition and healing foods.

Our “teaching-Food truck has been in our Kahuku location going on 3 yrs, in the same field as Giovanni’s shrimp truck.

We make: gluten-free crepes, rice wrapped Mediterranean and Southwest salad wraps, Spelt/sprouted grain sandwhiches, (very green) green drinks, 100% kona coffee, medicinal strength kombucha (I’ve brewed it for 38 yrs). I also have a stand at the Waimea farmers mkt on Thu selling green drinks and kombucha. We utilize macrobiotic techniques and chinese herbology and enjoy meeting the needs of our vegan and vegetarian community.

I have worked in various groups as an environmental and organic food activist for 25 yrs and do all I can to encourage small local farmers to grow organically.
